Blue and red glasses are well-known for Kiriko, but this deep green glass itself is made by craftsmen as well as Kiriko. By using colored glass on the outside and transparent glass on the inside, the cut surface looks more brilliant.
Leaves that shine in the glass
Hana Kiriko is a way to cut glasses with motifs of plants or animals. Unlike Edo Kiriko and Satsuma Kiriko, it is not famous, but it has a long history as Edo Kiriko, and there are even craftsmen who specialize in flower Kiriko. It is interesting that the pattern is different depending on the taste of the craftsman even if the motif is the same because it is not a geometric pattern. A perfect gift for those who are playful.
